On the eastern edge of Lake Manyara lies a place of unending loveliness. Here is Chem Chem Lodge, ‘the sunset camp’, luxurious without being lavish. Nowhere does The Lodge impose, but rather blends in with the unfenced wilderness that stretches on all sides. This exclusive retreat rests on the far western border of a exclusive wildlife concession which forms part of the Burunge Wildlife Management Area that runs between Lake Manyara and wildlife-rich Tarangire National Park.

The mobile camp follows the migration, offering guests a front-row seat to the procession of more than two million wildebeest, zebra and Thomson’s gazelle as they wander across the vast grass plains. Whether it's calving season, migration or river crossings, you are likely to see it!

The presidential Mbingu Villa is beach front and features two bedrooms with ocean view balconies, private bathrooms and sitting areas, a majestic lounge and two private plunge pools of which one is on the roof top. Our cozy one bedroom Umande Villa is beach front, has sitting areas inside and outside, a private bathroom and a private plunge pool. Next to Umande villa is our one bedroom Alfajiri Villa which is in fact our honeymoon suite. The Villa is beach front, features one bedroom, a spacious lounge, a private plunge pool and a romantic balcony with ocean view.
